Ramona Franklin (Democrat Challenger)
Judge Ramona Franklin has served on the 338th District Court since 2016. Prior, she was an attorney in private practice and an assistant district attorney in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. She is a former adjunct professor at Remington College.
Franklin received a bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University, a master’s degree from Lynn University and a law degree from Western Michigan University. She has been licensed by the State Bar of Texas since 2002.
Barbara Parker Hervey (Republican Incumbent)
Judge Barbara Parker Hervey has served on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals since 2000. Prior, she worked in the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office for 16 years, where she was an assistant criminal district attorney in the Appellate Section. She is a faculty member of the National College of District Attorneys and a former adjunct professor at St. Mary’s University Law School.
Hervey received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a law degree from St. Mary’s University Law School. She has been licensed by the State Bar of Texas since 1979.
