(Houston, TX) Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC has endorsed Justice Michael Massengale for the Supreme Court of Texas. Massengale currently sits on the First Court of Appeals in Houston. In making the endorsement, TLRPAC Chairman Richard J. Trabulsi, Jr., said:
“Justice Massengale has the right set of qualifications and experiences to make him a perfect fit for the state’s highest civil court. He is certified in civil appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Before joining the court of appeals, he had a broad-based civil litigation practice that included representation of clients in personal injury and property damage cases, and litigation related to corporate mergers and acquisitions, fraudulent transfers, securities fraud, and anticompetitive activities. Coupled with his demonstrated intelligence and work ethic, his background in civil litigation and appellate law ensure that he will be a strong addition to Texas’s most important court.”
Justice Massengale was appointed by the Supreme Court of Texas to serve as a commissioner on the Permanent Judicial Commission for Children, Youth & Families, where he chairs the Training Committee and oversees the Commission’s judicial and attorney training programs.
Massengale is a former partner at the Baker Botts law firm in Houston. Between law school and entering private practice, he served as a law clerk to Judge Harold R. DeMoss, Jr. on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Massengale attended the University of Texas School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Texas Law Review and graduated with honors. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Southwest High School in Fort Worth and is married to Dr. Lindsey Harris, a retina surgeon practicing in Houston. They are members of St. Anne Catholic Church in Houston.
